Spyfall Online
Everyone knows the secret location except the spy. Ask questions, give careful answers, and figure out who doesn't belong in this brilliant deduction game.

About This Game
Spyfall flips the social deduction formula on its head. Instead of a group trying to find a hidden killer, everyone receives a card showing a shared location (like "beach," "submarine," or "hospital") — except one player, the spy, who has no idea where they are. Players take turns asking each other questions, and both sides are trying to figure each other out. The spy wants to deduce the location from the answers, while the other players want to identify the spy without making the location too obvious.
The questions create a delicious tension. If someone asks "How's the weather there?" and you are at a submarine, you need to answer in a way that proves you know the location without giving the spy enough context to guess it. "It's pretty consistent" might work — but if the spy is paying attention, even that might be too much. Every question and answer is a calculated risk.
Spyfall is available for free online at several platforms, and games take just 5-10 minutes per round. It is one of the best icebreaker games available because the questions naturally spark conversation and laughter. The game works perfectly over video calls, requires no setup beyond sharing a link, and scales from 3 to 12 players. For groups that love social deduction but want something lighter and faster than Mafia or Among Us, Spyfall is the perfect choice.
How to Play
Create a room
Visit a Spyfall website and create a room. Share the link with players.
Everyone receives a card
All players see the location and their role at that location — except the spy, who only knows they are the spy.
Ask and answer questions
Players take turns asking each other questions about the location. Answers should prove knowledge without being too specific.
Accuse or guess
At any time, a player can accuse someone of being the spy (requires majority vote), or the spy can guess the location to win.
Reveal and score
If the spy is correctly identified, everyone else wins. If the spy correctly guesses the location, or is not caught before time runs out, the spy wins.
Tips & Strategy
- Ask vague but location-relevant questions. "How did you get here?" works well for almost any location.
- If you are the spy, mirror the confidence level of other players. Act like you belong.
- Do not answer with the location name or overly specific details — that gives the spy too much information.
- Watch for players who pause too long before answering or give very generic responses.
- As the spy, narrow down the location gradually from the answers. Do not guess until you are fairly confident.
