Secret Codes
A free two-player Codenames Duet-style game with one shared word grid, separate secret keys, fifteen agents, and nine clues. No signup or download.

About This Game
Secret Codes is Table Party's free, unofficial Codenames Duet-style game for exactly two people. Both players see the same twenty-five words but receive different private key cards. Together they must uncover fifteen agents before their supply of clue tokens runs out.
Players alternate between giving a one-word clue with a number and guessing cards. The clue-giver's key determines each result, which means a word that looks safe on the guesser's own key can still be dangerous during that turn. An assassin ends the run immediately, while a bystander ends the current turn.
The standard game gives the pair nine clue tokens, though the host can choose seven or eleven. Spending the last token begins sudden death rather than an instant loss. No more clues may be given, and the first non-agent guess ends the game. Secret Codes runs in the browser with a room code, no signup, and no ads.
How to Play
Open the shared grid
Both players join the room and see the same twenty-five words with different private key cards.
Give one clue and a number
The clue-giver writes one word and states how many agents it should connect on their key.
Guess using the giver's key
The other player taps cards. The clue-giver's private key decides whether each card is an agent, bystander, or assassin.
Find all fifteen agents
Clear the shared agents before the clue tokens run out, then survive sudden death if needed.
Tips & Strategy
- A dependable clue for two agents is often better than a risky clue for three.
- Remember that your own key does not resolve cards while you are guessing.
- Track cards that one player has cleared because they may still matter on the other key.
- Leave a few well-understood agents for sudden death when possible.
