About This Game

Category Rush is Table Party's free, unofficial Scattergories-style word game. Each round draws one letter and gives every player ten categories. You have ninety seconds to fill as many rows as possible with answers beginning with that letter.

Duplicate answers score nothing, so the most obvious response is often a trap. After time expires, every list appears for review. Players can challenge questionable entries, and the table settles each challenge with a sealed vote. An answer stays unless votes against it outnumber votes in its favor.

The letter pool excludes seven especially difficult letters, and the game ignores leading articles when checking the first letter. Category Rush supports two to twelve players, including a simplified head-to-head challenge rule for two people. It runs entirely in the browser with room-code joining, no signup, and no advertising.

How to Play

  1. Draw the round letter

Everyone receives the same starting letter and the same list of ten categories.

  2. Fill the categories

Write one valid answer per row before the ninety-second timer expires.

  3. Remove duplicates

Matching answers cancel, so neither player scores that category.

  4. Challenge and vote

Question doubtful answers, vote in sealed ballots, and score one point for every entry left standing.
