Town of Salem
A deep, role-heavy social deduction game set in the Salem witch trials era. Town of Salem features 30+ unique roles and intense strategic gameplay.

About This Game
Town of Salem takes the Mafia/Werewolf formula and turns the complexity dial up to eleven. Set during the Salem witch trials, the game features over 30 unique roles divided into three factions: Town, Mafia, and Neutral. Each role has a specific ability — the Investigator checks players' roles, the Jailor can imprison and execute, the Godfather kills for the Mafia while appearing innocent to investigators, and the Serial Killer operates as a lone wolf.
This role complexity is what sets Town of Salem apart. Games are not just about finding the "bad guys" — they are about navigating a web of conflicting interests, false claims, and calculated reveals. A Jester wins by getting themselves lynched. A Survivor wins by simply staying alive. An Executioner wins by getting a specific innocent player killed. These cross-cutting objectives create far more nuanced gameplay than traditional Mafia.
The game has a dedicated player base and a ranked mode for competitive play. The text-based discussion during day phases gets intense, with players writing "last wills" that reveal their findings posthumously and creating detailed role claims to prove their innocence. Town of Salem rewards repeat play — the more roles you understand, the better you can read the game. It is available on Steam (paid) and via browser, and stands as the deepest and most strategic social deduction game available online.

Tips & Strategy
- Write a detailed "last will" every night documenting your actions — it provides crucial information after death.
- Learn the role list for each game mode so you know what roles are in play.
- As Town, claim your role strategically — too early attracts kills, too late seems suspicious.
- Pay attention to player deaths — the method of death often reveals information about which evil roles are active.
- Do not spam or make baseless accusations. Thoughtful analysis earns trust and cooperation.
