About This Game
Catan Universe is the officially licensed digital adaptation of the iconic board game Settlers of Catan. Players collect and trade resources — wood, brick, sheep, wheat, and ore — to build roads, settlements, and cities on a hexagonal island map. The first player to reach 10 victory points wins.
The digital version faithfully recreates the tabletop experience with automatic dice rolls, resource distribution, and a clean interface that handles all the bookkeeping. Trade negotiations happen through an in-game system, and the AI opponents provide a solid challenge when friends are not available. The game supports both online multiplayer and local play.
Catan Universe offers the base game for free and sells expansion packs (Seafarers, Cities & Knights) as in-app purchases. How to Play
Place initial settlements
Each player places two settlements and two roads on the board at the start.
Roll dice and collect resources
On your turn, roll two dice. All players with settlements adjacent to hexes matching the roll collect resources.
Trade with other players
Propose trades with opponents or use maritime trade (4:1 or better with ports) to get the resources you need.
Build and expand
Spend resources to build roads, settlements, and cities. Buy development cards for special abilities.
Reach 10 victory points
Earn points through settlements (1), cities (2), longest road (2), largest army (2), and victory point cards.
Tips & Strategy
- Diversify your resource access in initial placement — being dependent on one resource makes you vulnerable to bad rolls.
- Trade actively. Players who trade more tend to build faster than those who hoard.
- Watch the robber. When a 7 is rolled, having more than 7 cards means you lose half.
- Longest Road and Largest Army are worth 2 points each — do not ignore these win conditions.
