TypeRacer
Race against others by typing passages as fast and accurately as you can. TypeRacer turns typing speed into a competitive multiplayer sport.

About This Game
TypeRacer is the original typing speed competition game, and it remains the best. You join a race with other players, a passage of text appears on screen, and everyone types it simultaneously. Your car on the race track moves forward based on your typing speed and accuracy. First to finish wins. It is simple, addictive, and will make you painfully aware of your actual typing speed.
The passages come from real sources — books, movies, songs, and speeches — which keeps things interesting and occasionally hilarious when you are racing through a Harry Potter quote or a famous presidential speech. Your words per minute (WPM) is tracked over time, giving you a clear measure of improvement. The competitive rankings and global leaderboard add motivation for serious typists.
TypeRacer works brilliantly as both a solo practice tool and a party game. In a virtual hangout, screen-sharing a TypeRacer lobby and watching friends frantically type while their cars crawl or zoom is endlessly entertaining. The site is free to play with ads, and a premium "Gold" membership removes ads and adds advanced stats. Whether you are training to type faster or just want a unique competitive experience, TypeRacer is in a class of its own.

Tips & Strategy
- Focus on accuracy first — fixing errors costs more time than typing slightly slower.
- Practice home-row positioning if you do not already touch-type.
- Use the practice mode to improve without competitive pressure.
- Watch for tricky punctuation and capitalization in passages — these trip up many racers.
- Create private races with friends for the best party experience.
