Immaculate Grid
Play Immaculate Grid — the daily sports puzzle where you fill a 3x3 grid matching row and column criteria. One guess per cell. Can you go 9/9?

About This Game
Immaculate Grid is the sports world's answer to Wordle — a daily puzzle that has become a ritual for millions of sports fans. The concept is deceptively simple: a 3x3 grid has criteria on each row and column (like team names, statistical milestones, or awards), and you must name a player who satisfies both the row and column criteria for each cell. You get one guess per cell, and the goal is to complete all nine cells correctly.
The puzzle tests a different kind of sports knowledge than traditional trivia. It is not about knowing who won the 1997 championship — it is about knowing which players played for both the Yankees AND the Dodgers, or which quarterback threw for 5,000 yards AND played for an NFC team. This intersection-based thinking creates genuinely challenging puzzles that even hardcore fans struggle with.
Originally launched for baseball (Immaculate Grid), the format has expanded to cover NFL, NBA, NHL, and soccer with dedicated daily puzzles for each sport. Each puzzle generates intense debate on social media as fans share their scores, argue about obscure picks, and discuss the cleverest answers. The "rarity score" feature shows how common or rare your answer choices were, adding a meta-game of finding the most obscure correct players.
How to Play
View the grid
Open the daily Immaculate Grid. A 3x3 grid shows criteria (teams, stats, awards) on rows and columns.
Identify intersections
For each cell, determine which players satisfy BOTH the row criteria AND the column criteria.
Make your guesses
Click a cell, search for a player, and submit. You get exactly one guess per cell — no changes.
Complete the grid
Try to fill all 9 cells correctly. Each correct answer turns green.
Check your rarity score
After completing, see how rare your answers were compared to other players. Lower rarity percentages are more impressive.
Tips & Strategy
- Start with the hardest intersections first — if you cannot find an answer, it is better to fail early than waste easy picks.
- Journeymen players who bounced between many teams are often the key to tricky cells.
- For stat-based criteria, think about players from eras when those stats were more common.
- Check the rarity scores to see if more common answers exist for future attempts.
