Music Quizly
Music Quizly is a free browser music quiz with typed-answer multiplayer rooms, a Quiz Master host mode, and a 0.1-second Microguesser mode. Free rooms run ads.

About This Game
Music Quizly is a real-time multiplayer music quiz you play in the browser. A host opens a regular room without creating an account, picks a curated playlist, and shares a six-character room code; guests join with just a display name. Rounds run on a clip, round-count, and timer the host sets, and instead of choosing from multiple-choice options, everyone types the song's artist and title directly, closer to a trivia free-for-all than a quiz-show buzzer.
The homepage and FAQ describe several modes on top of the base format: Party Mode for casual group rounds, a host-controlled Quiz Master mode for a more structured night, and a Microguesser variant, playable solo or multiplayer, that drops the clip to as little as 0.1 seconds for players who want the hardest possible version. The publisher's FAQ states regular rooms scale from 1 to 1,000 players; that figure is a publisher claim, not something verified under load, so treat it as a ceiling rather than a guarantee for a large group.
Regular rooms are free to create and join, and carry advertising. Music Quizly does not market standard play as ad-free. A separate paid product, Events, is a branded, ad-free room tier aimed at organizers running a sponsored or company event, with its own pricing and player limits documented on the site's Events page; it is not the baseline cost of an ordinary room. The in-app playlist picker currently surfaces curated playlists and Deezer links. There is no blanket guarantee that every Spotify playlist or track is playable, and our review did not test raw audio uploads.
Music Quizly is one of the few picks here where you type the artist and title instead of picking from options. Compare it with Songlio and Songless, or browse our ranked music guessing games guide.
How to Play
Create or join a room
Start a free regular room without an account, or enter a six-character room code and a display name to join one.
Set the rules and playlist
The host picks a curated playlist, round count, clip length, and timer, or switches on Quiz Master or Microguesser mode.
Listen and type your answer
When the clip plays, type the artist and title before the round timer runs out — there are no multiple-choice options to lean on.
Check scores and advance
Scoring updates after each round, and the room advances through the configured rounds to a final leaderboard.
Tips & Strategy
- Choose a genre or decade the whole group knows before starting the timer.
- Try Quiz Master mode for a more structured night with a dedicated host, and save Microguesser for a group that already knows the playlist well.
- Artist and title are scored separately. If you know one before the other, submit it while the clip is still playing.
- Load a playlist and test its audio before inviting everyone, since track availability and browser playback can vary.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Free regular rooms need no account to host or join
- Typed artist/title answers reward real recall instead of rewarding a lucky multiple-choice guess
- Quiz Master and Microguesser add real format variety beyond one default mode
- Six-character room codes make joining from a phone quick for a group
Cons
- Free regular rooms carry advertising; an ad-free experience is only available through the separate paid Events product
- The publisher's 1-to-1,000 player claim is not independently load-tested. Treat it as an upper bound, not a guarantee at scale
- Playlists are curated and Deezer-linked today, with no guarantee every Spotify playlist or track will play
- Typed-answer rounds require more recall than multiple-choice quizzes
